I am 15 yrs old and I live with my mom in Ohio, but I want to live with my dad…………… ?
I want to live with my dad but he doesn’t have custody of me but he is gonna get an attorney so that he can have custody of me.(mom has full custody)I want to know if I have any kind of decision since I’m 15, I read that the child had to be around a certain age but they didn’t give the age they only gave age 18. I really want to live with my dad and I want the judge to understand that when we go to court but I want to know what the age is where I can have some say so in this because my doesnt want me to go but I want to live with him. Thanks! I hope u get what I’m asking LOL!!
At 15 the courts will listen to your reason why you want to go live with your Dad. As long as it is a good reason they will approve it. If you just want to live with him because your mom is being “unfair” or something like that then they will usually say no but I have known courts to listen to 12 and 13 year olds before. Your dads lawyer can have you come in to take the stand in the custody hearing so you can explain your reasons and let the judge know how you feel.
