Good media player for WMA and MP3 Files?
I love the sound quality WMA’s give over MP3 (mp3 has high pitch whistling noises usually) and so for the last several years all my music i have ripped from my CD’s onto my computer, has all been WMA format. Well now thanks to the MPAA my windows media player updated itself and now has some twig up its butt that won’t let it play the songs i ripped from cd’s i paid hard cash to stores for, and many of those CD’s are scratched or, thanks to my brother, missing, so my WMA’s are the only copies of the music i have. Since Windows Media Player became useless, what free program can i download to run WMA’s in its place? Would my Zune software work (it’s on a diff. PC at the moment but i have it) without checking licensing? Or where can i download a good program for free that works just like WMP but without the license check? Heck if i could switch to the older version of WMP i would. It just makes me so mad that it plays the MP3s my bro downloaded, but not my purchased, ripped WMA’s.
I personally use a program called foobar 2000. I like it because it is low profile and uses barely any of my ram and I like programs with little to no “flash” when I want them to just run something for me. A lot of people I know like winamp but I don’t know if it plays wma. foobar has played everything I have ever found, and its open source so theres lots of plugins to add functionality to it and it has more functions than any other player Ive used
