bankruptcy credit cards cash advances

Is it possible to get a credit card after a bankruptcy?
Its been over a year and I’d like to start rebuilding my credit. Are there certain ones that will give me one over others? Where should I look? I just want one for emergencies and doesn’t have to be a big credit line. Something that allows for cash advances when times get rough. Oh for those that like to critisize (sp?)….don’t bother. Doing the BK to begin with was my parent’s doing.
You can try HSBC, they tend to grand cards to previous bankrupt customers. Most of the time any newly bankrupt customer can get a card that is either secured or has a large annual fee. Watch out for those that “guarantee” regardless of credit. Normally they have an application fee, a reporting fee and a large annual fee, with a small credit limit, by time you get the card you already owe most of the credit line.
