what is the easiest way to withdraw all money from 401k w/out closing it. I need cash now.?
I know about the penalty. I’m having a hard time getting someone to understand I want my money.
It would be an extremely foolish move on your part.
Not only will you suffer a penalty ( if you are below 59 1/2 ), but you get fully taxed on the amount withdrawn.
The combination of those two hits could mean you see less than 50% of the money taken out.
It may be better to consider a short term loan. Or borrow the cash from relatives, friends, whatever.
